Auburn’s two cemeteries have an honored role in the annual Memorial Day Parade and Services. Please contact the administration building for more info.
Shadyside Cemetery
Shadyside Cemetery is located on East Washington Street near the corner of State Route 44. It is on the south side of the street and across the road from the Auburn Museum. There are lots available for purchase at a cost of $75.00 per grave for residents or $300.00 per lot of four (4) graves. The cost for non-residents is $600.00, $100.00 for an infant.
Maple Shade Cemetery
Maple Shade Cemetery is also located on East Washington Street, just east of the Administration Building. Access is available off Auburn Road just north of East Washington Street as well. There are no lots available for purchase in Maple Shade.
Cemetery Rules & Regulations
- Hours: Sunrise to Sunset.
- No shrubs allowed.
- Flower beds may be the width of base of memorial stone and not more than 12" high.
- No flowers in the center of the plot.
- No rose bushes or creeping vines permitted.
- Full grave coverings are not permitted except those currently in place and maintained.
- All plantings maintained by lot owners and/or agents.
- Plantings not maintained or deemed an eyesore may be removed at the discretion of the Trustees or Cemetery Sexton.
- Winter wreaths are allowed from November 15 to March 1 after which they may be removed by Maintenance.
- All monuments are to be attached to footer.
- No Burials on Township Legal Holidays.
